• What makes acmet Tools BU think they can maintain my programming tools?

We are currently maintaining two C compilers. So if it is C compilers, we can do it.

• What is the assurance that the quality of my company's product will improve?

We treat software maintenance as RENOVATION. We do not just fix the defect, we also check for side-effects, we add unit-tests for the fix, we re-factor the code, we document the function where the fix was made.

• My product has non-existent/incomplete documentation. Will acmet Tools BU handle it?

Yes we will. As part of RENOVATION we will add documentation to the source code. So at a later date it will be less costlier to maintain.

• Why did acmet Tools BU choose compiler as its main focus area?

Two fortuitous circumstances: One of the founders, Mr. Raghavan, had long experience of working with systems software. And Mr. Takata of Oki had the confidence to offer him, in 1993, the opportunity to build a compiler. It was that, and the relation between the two persons which brought compiler technology to acmet when it was founded.

• Why does acmet Tools BU treat maintenance work as renovation?

acmet Tools BU treats maintenance work as renovation because just bug-fixing will quickly degrade the quality of software.

Software gets built under schedule constraints. Maintainability is not a priority. "Technical debt" is incurred. RENOVATION sets this right.
