Business Issues

  • How will off-shoring to acmet Tools BU help my programming tools business?

This will free your developers from maintaining current products. This will allow them to focus on new development on which the future of the company depends.

Since maintenance is our business, it is not a distraction. We will be able to provide better maintenance support for your current compilers. Your customers will be happier with the improved support.

  • My company has tried off-shoring to India and burned its fingers. Why would the experience with acmet Tools BU be any different?
We have a track record with two Japanese companies.
  • What is the barrier to acmet Tools BU becoming my competitor in the programming tools business?
We do not have the marketing clout to become third party vendors. We see our niche as support for third party vendors. Specifically small and medium vendors.
  • Should my company off-shore to acmet Tools BU just to get a price advantage?
No. We do not wish to provide a low cost option. We want to augment your resources so that you can grow your top line.
  • Would my company have to downsize if it outsourced work to acmet Tools BU?
We want to augment your resources so that you can grow your top-line. Please do not offer us business with a view to downsize your current developer team.
  • Would my company be more competitive if we were to off-shore to acmet Tools BU?
Yes. By allowing you to focus on developing products for the future of the company - repurpose for the core.
  • Why is acmet Tools BU keen on maintenance work? Are they not keen on providing services for development?
The maintenance phase is the largest phase of the software life-cycle. It is the work that most (all?) developers would not like to do. We see it as a niche. Our HR processes are geared to support this business model. As regards, services for development we certainly can do it. We just do not see that as an opportunity for now. But if an opportunity exists, we will be more than willing to provide our services.
  • Does acmet Tools BU have experience in supporting US based customers?
Not for compilers. But for some of the other work that acme does we have been doing work for US companies notably MCCI, which is a leader in making USB drivers. We have 35 persons currently supporting MCCI.
  • What are the business and pricing models supported by acmet Tools BU?
